What Are Charity Stories?
Charity Stories are short narratives extracted directly from your organization's Annual Report. They're now available through both Ren and Giving Compass.
We're exploring different ways to surface meaningful information back to donors — helping answer the question donors care about most: what does "impact" really mean? Charity Stories are one of the ways we're bringing that impact to life.
As a charity, you get to decide which stories represent your organization. You can approve the stories you're proud to share, or decline the ones that don't feel like the right fit.
How to Approve or Decline a Story
Navigate to your organization's Charity Dashboard.
Review each story generated from your annual report.
To approve a story so it can represent your organization, click the thumbs up icon.
To decline a story, click the thumbs down icon.
If you decline, you'll be asked to provide a reason. This helps us better understand your preferences and improve future stories.
Don't Have an Annual Report on File?
Charity Stories are pulled directly from your organization's Annual Report. If our partner, Giving Compass, isn't able to locate a report for your organization, you can upload one yourself:
Look for the Upload Report link.
Click it — you'll be taken to your Profile page.
Follow the steps on the Profile page to complete your upload.
Once your report is on file, we'll be able to generate Charity Stories for your review.
Why This Matters
Giving you control over how your organization is represented ensures the stories donors see are accurate, authentic, and meaningful — straight from the work you've already documented.
