When you verify rent through your bank, we look for transactions that look like rent payments. Sometimes the name on the payment doesn't match the housing provider name you entered. Here's why, and what to do.
Why this happens
Rent payments often go through different entities β a property management company, a payment platform, or a legal name that's different from the one your landlord uses day to day. For example:
Your landlord is "Smith Realty" but the bank shows "SR Holdings LLC"
You pay through a service like Zelle, Venmo, or a property platform β the bank shows the platform name, not your landlord
The property is owned by a parent company you've never directly heard of
What to do
Select the rent payments anyway, even if the names don't match exactly. As long as the amount and timing look right, we'll use them as proof of rent.
If you're not sure which transactions are your rent, look for:
Recurring monthly payments around the same date each month
Amounts close to your monthly rent
