Overview
When you verify your business to activate your dedicated text number, you need to submit a branded email. This article explains what a branded email is, what qualifies, and how to create one for free if you don’t have one yet.
What Is a Branded Email?
A branded email is an email address that can be clearly connected to your practice. It means the address itself, not your logo, email signature, or email design.
Good news: you don’t need to buy a custom domain. A free Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook address works as long as your practice name is in the address.
Why It Matters
It’s required for texting access. Carriers require a valid business email before your dedicated text number can be approved.
It prevents delays. Submissions with a personal email get rejected or put on hold, which delays your number going live.
What Counts as a Branded Email
1. An email on your practice’s website domain (best option)
2. A free Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook address that clearly includes your practice name
What Doesn’t Count
An address won’t qualify if it only has a person’s name, initials, numbers, or unrelated words with no visible connection to your business.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Create a Free Branded Email
Don’t have an email with your practice name in it? You can set one up for free in a few minutes.
Pick a provider and open its sign-up page:
Outlook: signup.live.com
Choose an address that includes your full or recognizable practice name, such as amoramedspa@gmail.com. If it’s taken, add a simple word like “info,” “contact,” “team,” or “staff.”
Finish creating the account and make sure you can log in.
Go back to your Admin Portal and enter the new address in the business verification form.
Common Mistakes and FAQs
Q: Do I need to buy a custom email domain?
A: No. A free Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook address works as long as your practice name is clearly part of the address.
Q: I’m the owner. Can I use my personal email?
A: Only if it includes your practice name. An address with just your name, like janesmith@gmail.com, won’t be accepted even if you own the practice.
Q: My practice name is already taken on Gmail. What should I do?
A: Add a simple word to your practice name, like amoramedspainfo@gmail.com or contact.amoramedspa@gmail.com. The practice name just needs to be easy to spot.
Q: Can I use an abbreviation of my practice name?
A: Only if it’s clearly recognizable as your business. When in doubt, use the full name.
