If you need to upload multiple site polygons to Restor, here's how our bulk upload process works.

How It Works

Uploading sites in bulk is pretty straightforward. Send us your files at support@restor.eco, we'll process them, and then work with you to get all the necessary information filled out before uploading everything to your account.

The Process

1. File Submission

First, send us your files so we can take a look and give you an estimate of how long processing and uploading will take.

We accept these file formats:

  • Shapefile

  • KML/KMZ

  • GeoJSON

If possible, include site names in your files - it makes things easier to reference later on.

2. Processing

After we receive your files, we'll process the data and create a spreadsheet that looks something like this one. This spreadsheet will have all the fields you need for your sites.

3. Upload

We'll send the spreadsheet back to you to fill out. You can either:

  • Fill it out yourself and send it back, or

  • Give us the information and we'll fill it out for you

Note: If your organization has GIS expertise, you can actually include all the required information in the attribute table of your files, and we'll upload the sites directly with that data.

What Information You'll Need

Here are the mandatory fields we need for each site:

  • Name - What you call the site

  • Site Type - The type of site it is

  • Site Visibility - Whether it's public or private

  • Intervention Start Year - When you started restoration work

  • Intervention Type - What kind of restoration you're doing

  • Goals - What you're trying to achieve

  • Support Sought - What kind of help you need

You can find the complete list of site metadata fields here.
