Learn how to connect your Beehiiv account so contacts can sync to your email platform.
Before you begin
You'll need the following from Beehiiv:
API Key
Publication ID
Two segment IDs: one for Recent Contacts and one for All Contacts
These segments are used to keep your contacts up to date and make sure you don't pay for contacts you already have.
Create required segments
You'll need two dynamic segments in Beehiiv:
Recent Contacts — includes contacts added in the last 24 hours.
All Contacts — includes all contacts in your audience.
Make sure both segments are set to update automatically.
Connect Beehiiv
Log in to Retention.com
Go to Settings → Integrations
Connect Beehiiv
Enter your Publication ID, API Key, and both Segment IDs (Recent Contacts and All Contacts)
Complete setup
Avoid paying for contacts you already have
By default, we check your existing audience in Beehiiv before adding new contacts. This helps make sure you don't pay for contacts you already have.
What happens next
Once saved, your Beehiiv integration will begin syncing contacts automatically.
