A step-by-step guide on how to customize your AI-generated website, including how to add new sections using pre-built templates, edit text, and change images.
β¨ When You Need This Guide
This guide is your go-to resource for making changes to your new AI-generated website. Use this if:
You want to make changes to the text, colors, or images on your website pages.
You need to add a new section to a page, such as a testimonial block or an FAQ.
You are looking for instructions on how to use the drag-and-drop website editor.
What This Covers (And What It Doesn't)
β This article explains the basics of using the editor to add sections, edit text, and change images on your website pages.
β It does not cover advanced SEO settings or the high level overview of the AI websites. For those topics, please see our guides on SEO for Your AI Website and Getting Started with the AI Website Builder.
β Getting Started: Navigating the Editor
From the main Aloha menu, click the Website Builder Tab (
) to open the editor.
Use the dropdown menu at the top of the page to select the page you wish to edit (e.g., Home, About, Services).
β How to Add a New Section
In the editor menu on the left-hand side, you will find a library of pre-made section templates.
Select the template that fits your needs (e.g., Testimonial, FAQ, Gallery Image).
Drag and drop the template onto the area of the page where you would like it to appear.
Then click on the content to open the settings menu for that new section on the left, allowing you to customize it.
Once done with that section, if you need to another one, click Add at the top of the Settings menu and follow the same steps.
β How to Edit Text and Images
To Edit Text:
To Change Background or Text Colors:
Click on the section you want to edit.
In the settings menu on the left, look for options like for Background Color and Text Color at the bottom to make your adjustments.
If you have specific brand colors, you can enter the color code directly. The default format is RGB, but you can click the section underneath the input to switch to HSL or HEX format.
To Add or Change an Image:
In a section's settings menu, find the image area. It will be labeled Image URL or Background Image.
Click the picture icon.
You can either choose an existing image from your library or upload a new one directly from your computer by dragging the file into the upload area.
Click Add Selected Images to add the image to your area.
β Saving Your Work (The Most Important Step!)
After you are done making edits on a page, you must click the SAVE button at the top of the page before navigating to a new page or exiting. This ensures your edits are stored.
Your changes are saved, but they are not live yet. To make them visible to the public, you will need to Publish your site.
π‘ Common Questions
What You Might Notice | Why It's Happening | What to Do |
I made edits and clicked Save, but I don't see the changes on my live website. | Saving your work is different from publishing. Save stores your edits in the editor, while Publish pushes all saved changes to your live website for the public to see. | After saving your work, look for a Publish button, which is usually at the top of the editor. Click it to make your saved changes go live. You may also need to clear your browser's cache to see the updates. |
I dragged a new section onto the page, but it's in the wrong place. | The drag-and-drop feature allows you to reorder sections easily. | You should be able to click and hold the section you want to move and drag it up or down the page to your desired position. |
I want to add another new section to the page I'm working on. | The templates library might not be visible while you are editing a specific section's settings. | Look for an Add button, which is typically at the top of the settings menu on the left. Clicking this will bring back the library of pre-made section templates for you to choose from. |
π You'll Know It's Working When:
You successfully save your changes and see them reflected in the website editor.
After publishing, you can visit your live website and see all of your new edits and sections.
