Understanding the Different Types of Folders in Sales Analytics

In Sales Analytics, organizing your analyses into folders is crucial for maintaining a structured and accessible workspace. Here’s an overview of the different types of folders available and how they can be used to streamline your workflow.

Overview of Folder Types

Where to Find Folders

  • View Folders Section: The 'View Folders' section is the main listing page where users can access all their folders.

Types of Folders Available

Here’s a breakdown of the different folder types and what they mean for your organization and sharing capabilities:

Private Folder

  • Owner Access Only: This folder is private to the user who created it. Only the owner can access the analyses stored here, making it ideal for sensitive or personal data.

Public Folder

  • Team Access: This folder is accessible to all team members within your organization. It stores analyses that must be shared across the team for easy collaboration and viewing.

Shared Folder

  • Conditionally Appears: This folder type appears when an analysis is specifically shared with another team member. It helps identify which analyses have been shared and with whom outside of the regular team-wide sharing.

New Folder

  • User-Created Folders: Users can create as many new folders as they need, with no restrictions on the count. This flexibility allows users to organize their analyses in a way that best suits their workflow and categorization needs.

Restrictions on Folder Operations

  • No Renaming: Users cannot rename the 'Private', 'Public', and 'Shared' folders. These folders are provided by default to ensure a consistent organizational structure across the platform.

  • Icons Disabled: The options icon is disabled for 'Public', 'Private', and 'Shared' folders, which means they cannot be edited or renamed to maintain their designated purpose.

By effectively leveraging these folder types, you ensure that your analyses are well-organized and accessible to the right people, enhancing collaboration and efficiency in using Sales Analytics.
