Adding a Weighted Product

FAQs

    • When adding a variable product to inventory, enable the Sell by Weight option and enter the product details according to the unit selected in the settings.

  2. Is there a difference between adding pre-packaged weighted products and those weighed at the time of sale using an electronic scale?

Yes, the difference lies in how the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is assigned:

    • For pre-packaged weighted products: Use the barcode printed on the product.

    • For products weighed at the point of sale: If the electronic scale is integrated with the platform, the SKU is a 5-digit number derived from the printed barcode.

      Example:

      • Product Name: Apple

      • Printed Barcode from Scale: 990000123101

      • To generate the SKU: Remove the first two digits (99) and use the following five digits (00001) as the SKU for the Apple product.
