After adding products to the Rewaa platform, you may need to update or correct their details, such as pricing, quantities, or additional information. The platform allows manual editing for individual products or batch updates using an Excel file (supported for some product types).

1. Editing Products Manually

  1. Navigate to: Products & Inventory > Products

  2. Click on the three dots under the Actions column for the product you wish to edit.

  3. Select Edit Product.

Restrictions Based on Product Type:

  • Simple Product:

    • Cannot edit:

      • Product cost.

      • Quantity (if accounting system is enabled).

      • Add tracking options (serial number or batch number).

  • Variable Product:

    • Cannot edit:

      • Product cost.

      • Quantity (if accounting system is enabled).

      • Tracking options.

      • Delete existing options or values.

  • Composite Product:

    • Cannot edit:

      • Product cost (depends on components).

      • Quantity (depends on component stock).

  • Digital Product:

    • Cannot edit:

      • Product cost.

      • Change product type (e.g., from e-card to digital).

  • Tracked Product (Serial or Batch Number):

    • Cannot edit:

      • Product cost.

      • Quantity (if accounting system is enabled).

      • Batch/serial details (supplier, location, dates, etc.).

    • Change tracking type (serial to batch or vice versa).

Copying Product Data Across Branches

You can copy product details such as prices, quantities, and tax types to other branches.

Steps:

  • Go to: Products & Inventory > Products > Edit Product.

  • Scroll to Stock and Pricing Details.

  • Expand the dropdown next to the branch name.

  • Select fields to copy (e.g., price, tax type) and click Copy.

  • Save changes.

2. Updating Products via Excel

Currently, only Simple Products can be updated using an Excel file.

  • Navigate to: Products & Inventory > Products > Import.

  • Select Update Products.

ℹ️ To update the quantity of products in stock, you need to enable the option to manually edit product quantities.

  • Click Download your Template and choose the correct format for your product.

  • Select Product Type: Simple Product, then click Next.

  • Select the appropriate template format (XLSX Template, CSV Template). The file will be downloaded to your device.

  • Click Template Guide and read the instructions before making any modifications or adding products to the file.

  • Make updates in the Excel file.

  • Upload the file back to the platform.

  • Once the file is processed, click Update, and changes will reflect in the inventory.


FAQs

1. How can I change product costs?

  • For errors: Delete the product and re-add it.

  • For cost changes from suppliers: Update via purchase invoices to reflect on inventory.​

2. Why can’t I edit product quantities?

Quantity editing is disabled by default for accuracy. Enable manual editing from Settings if necessary.

⚠️ Avoid manual edits to maintain inventory accuracy.

3. Why is quantity editing unavailable with the accounting app?

When the accounting app is added, transactions are linked to the accounting system. Manually adjusting quantities can cause accounting errors.

  • To increase product quantity: Issue purchase invoices.

  • To increase or decrease product quantity: Use stocktaking.

4. How can I add a new type to a multi-type product?

  • Go to Product Details > Options and Values > Add the new value.

  • Press the ENTER key on your keyboard after each option and value you add.

  • Click "Save," and the new types will be added to the product.

5. How can I edit details for tracked products?

Tracked details (e.g., batch/serial information) cannot be edited post-save. You must delete and re-add the product.

6. How can I edit the quantity of a bundled product component?

You can manually update the quantities by accessing the product details and adjusting the component quantity.

7. Can I sync product updates to e-commerce platforms (Salla, Zid)?
Updates sync unless the SKU changes, which will break the link.

​8. Will quantity changes on Rewaa affect e-commerce platforms?
Yes, inventory changes on Rewaa reflect on linked platforms.

​9. Can I copy product details for specific branches?
Copying applies to all branches. Selecting individual branches is not possible.

​10. Can product quantities be copied between branches after saving them in inventory?

Yes, but you must enable manual quantity adjustments in inventory.

ℹ️ This option is unavailable if the accounting app is installed.

To enable manual quantity:

  • Go to: Settings > Settings, scroll down to "Edit Product Quantity", uncheck (✔), and click Save.

⚠️ Manual adjustments are not recommended to maintain inventory accuracy, as stock levels are affected by supplier deliveries and stocktaking.

11. Can I copy specific data (e.g., tax type and last purchase price)?
Yes, select only the desired fields (e.g., tax type, last price) before copying.

12. How can I copy only the tax type and last purchase price if my product prices vary by branch?
Select (✔) only the last purchase price and tax type, then click Copy. Only the selected data will be copied.
