Regular maintenance of your helmet and shoulder pads ensures they provide maximum protection throughout the season. Proper care and inspection help identify damage before it compromises safety.

Helmet Maintenance

After each use:

  • Wipe the shell clean with a damp cloth

  • Remove chin strap and jaw pads to air dry

Weekly:

  • Clean pads with mild soap and warm water

  • Spray interior with disinfectant

  • Inspect facemask for bends or cracks

⚠️ Warning: Do NOT submerge your helmet in water, use harsh chemicals, or store in extreme heat. These actions damage helmet integrity and protective capabilities.

Shoulder Pad Maintenance

  • Remove padding after each use to air out

  • Wipe shell with a damp cloth

  • Hand wash pads weekly with mild detergent

  • Inspect straps and buckles regularly for wear

When to Replace

Replace your equipment if you notice:

  • Cracked helmet shell

  • Damaged or deteriorating padding

  • Broken or frayed straps

💡 Tip: Inspect your equipment at the start of each season and after any significant impacts to ensure continued protection.
