The Rhumbix Web platform supports multi-select copy and paste functionality, designed to enhance productivity and streamline workflows within our platform. This feature allows you to quickly duplicate information across multiple cells, saving you time and reducing manual input. This article will guide you through the process of using this capability.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Selecting Cells to Copy:

    • Navigate to the timecard or shift extra screen where you would like to copy information.

    • Click and drag your cursor across ALL cells you wish to copy, or click the first cell and Shift + Click into the last cell to be copied.

  2. Copying the Data:

    • Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on Mac) to copy the selected cells.

  3. Pasting the Data:

    • Navigate to the area within the application where you want to paste the copied data.

    • Select ALL the cells where you intend to paste the data, ensuring that the selection matches the size and shape of the copied cells.

    • Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac) to paste the copied content into the selected cells.

    • Note: If you select more rows than you copied, the last copied row will be duplicated to complete the entire pasted rows.

Example of copying and pasting Timekeeping data:

Tips for Effective Usage:

  • Data Alignment: Ensure that the number of rows and columns in the paste area matches the copied data to maintain data integrity.

  • Usage in Different Modules: This feature works across different modules within our platform, allowing you to copy data not only within the same time card but also between timekeeping and shift extras. The Paste function will attempt to match up fields - they do not have to be in the same order.

  • Undoing a Paste Operation Not Allowed: If you paste data incorrectly, you can NOT undo the action by pressing Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac).

Example of copying Timekeeping data to a Shift Extra:

Troubleshooting Common Issues:

  • Data Not Pasting Correctly: Make sure that the area where you are trying to paste the data is compatible with the copied content (e.g., numeric data into numeric fields).

  • Row Repeating at the End: This happens when you have selected a larger number of rows to Paste than the number of rows you used to Copy.

Conclusion: The multi-copy and paste feature is designed to enhance your efficiency by reducing the time spent on repetitive data entry tasks. By following these instructions, you can maximize your productivity and streamline your workflows.
