Utilize Industry Data to help prepare for and reference critical scenario lists during PHA Sessions.

Accessing Plan & Assist (Critical Scenario List) Data

If your company has purchased Plan & Assist Industry Data, there will be a section in your dashboard that indicates "Plan and Assist", "Industry Data" or "Industry Driven Bowties". Simply select "View Report" to see your Industry List in question.

Access the Industry Data Set

  1. Login: Start by logging into the application using your facilitator or team member credentials.

  2. Navigate: Click on "Critical Scenarios" in the main menu to open the data set.

  3. Explore: Browse the bowtie diagrams grouped by equipment and worst credible scenario pairs.

Tip: Use the search bar to locate specific equipment types or scenarios quickly.


Identify Relevant Scenarios

  1. Filter by Equipment: Select the equipment relevant to your HAZOP session.

  2. Review Worst Credible Scenarios: Within each equipment category, identify scenarios with the highest severity ratings.

  3. Examine Supporting Resources: Open the bowtie diagrams and review the accompanying Block Flow Diagram to understand the context of the scenario.

Example: For a pressure vessel, the bowtie may highlight causes such as overpressure, consequences like rupture, and safeguards such as pressure relief valves.


Prepare for the HAZOP Session

  1. Export Details: Export bowtie diagrams and the associated Block Flow Diagram to include in your session materials.

  2. Cross-Reference: Compare the worst credible scenarios with your system’s P&ID or other documentation to ensure alignment.

  3. Prioritize Discussion Points: Flag scenarios that require further analysis or additional safeguards.


Use During the HAZOP Session

  1. Scenario Analysis: Present the bowtie diagrams and Block Flow Diagram to facilitate detailed discussions.

  2. Team Collaboration: Focus on the identified causes, consequences, and safeguards, encouraging input from all team members.

  3. Document Findings: Use the application to record team feedback and suggested improvements directly during the session.


Post-Session Insights

  1. Review Data: Analyze updates and notes captured during the session.

  2. Generate Reports: Export bowtie diagrams and session summaries, complete with annotated Block Flow Diagrams, for stakeholders.

  3. Implement Safeguards: Use the insights to address any gaps and strengthen your mitigation strategies.
