How to Implement UTM Injection for Pinterest Campaigns on Roasberry

UTM injection is crucial for tracking and analyzing your campaigns effectively. Roasberry supports UTM injection for Pinterest campaigns, ensuring that you can monitor the performance of your ads seamlessly. Here's a step-by-step guide to setting up UTM injection for your Shopping Feed Ads and other campaigns on Pinterest.

Step 1: Access the Campaign Settings

First, log into your Roasberry account and navigate to the Campaign Settings for your Pinterest ads.

Step 2: Choose Your Campaign Type

Roasberry supports UTM injection for two main types of Pinterest campaigns:

  1. Shopping Feed Ads

  2. Other Campaigns

You’ll need to follow the respective format depending on which type of campaign you're running.

Step 3: Set Up UTM Injection for Shopping Feed Ads

For Shopping Feed Ads, use the following extension at the end of your URL to track campaign performance:

{lpurl}?mtm_source=pinterest&mtm_campaign={adid}&mtm_kwd={keyword}&mtm_cid={adid}

It should look like the link below:

"https://www.mywebsite.com/?mtm_source=pinterest&mtm_campaign={adid}&mtm_kwd={keyword}&mtm_cid={adid}"

Here’s a breakdown of the parameters:

  • mtm_source=pinterest: This tracks the source, Pinterest, where the ad is displayed.

  • mtm_campaign={adid}: This captures the specific ad ID associated with the campaign.

  • mtm_kwd={keyword}: This tracks the keywords used in your ad targeting.

  • mtm_cid={adid}: This tracks the campaign ID.

Copy this UTM extension and apply it to your shopping ad URLs.

Step 4: Set Up UTM Injection for Other Campaigns

For other types of campaigns, use this extension:

?mtm_source=pinterest&mtm_campaign={adid}&mtm_kwd={keyword}&mtm_cid={adid}

It should look like the link below:

"https://www.mywebsite.com/?mtm_source=pinterest&mtm_campaign={adid}&mtm_kwd={keyword}&mtm_cid={adid}"

Similar to Shopping Feed Ads, the parameters track the same details:

  • mtm_source: Identifies Pinterest as the traffic source.

  • mtm_campaign: Tracks the unique ad ID.

  • mtm_kwd: Captures the keywords associated with your ad.

  • mtm_cid: Tracks the campaign ID.

Step 5: Apply the Extension to Your Campaign

Once you've chosen the appropriate UTM extension for your campaign type, paste it into the URL structure of your Pinterest ad.

For Shopping Feed Ads, append the extension directly after the landing page URL (lpurl).

For Other Campaigns, simply attach the extension after the question mark (?).

Step 6: Test and Launch Your Campaign

Before finalizing, ensure the UTM injection is correctly implemented by testing your campaign URL. Once everything is confirmed, launch your campaign and track its performance using Roasberry’s analytics.
