Common Issues and How to Fix Them

A quick reference for resolving the most frequently encountered problems in Rolai. If you run into an issue, check below for possible causes and step-by-step solutions before reaching out to support.

1. I can’t upload a file to Knowledge

Possible Causes:

  • The file format isn’t supported (e.g., unsupported file type).

  • The file size exceeds Rolai’s upload limit.

  • There’s a temporary network or server issue.

How to Fix:

  • Check that your file is in a supported format (PDFs, txt, docx, doc, pptx, xlsx, and xls).

  • Make sure the file size is within the allowed limit.

  • Try re-uploading after refreshing your browser.

  • If the issue persists, check your internet connection or try again later.

2. An integration isn’t syncing data

Possible Causes:

  • The integration hasn’t been properly connected or authorized.

  • The external service (e.g., Canvas, Microsoft 365) is experiencing downtime.

  • Your credentials or API keys have expired or changed.

How to Fix:

  • Go to the Integrations section and confirm the connection status.

  • Re-enter or update your credentials if prompted.

  • Check the status page of the external service for outages.

  • Re-authorize the integration if needed.

3. AI Agent isn’t responding or can’t access information

Possible Causes:

  • The Agent hasn’t been activated or configured correctly.

  • The Agent doesn’t have access to the relevant Knowledge Base content.

  • There’s an error in the Agent’s prompt or setup.

How to Fix:

  • Make sure the Agent is active and properly set up in the Agents section.

  • Confirm the Agent has permission to access the needed documents or data.

  • Double-check the Agent’s instructions and settings.

  • If using a Knowledge Base, ensure the content is uploaded and categorized correctly4.

4. AI responses seem slow or stalled

Possible Causes:

  • Large or complex queries may take longer to process.

  • The selected model or vector search can add processing time.

  • Temporary server or network issues.

How to Fix:

  • Try simplifying your request or breaking it into smaller parts.

  • If you’re using a vector-based search, be aware it may take a few extra seconds.

  • Refresh the page or try again after a short wait.

  • Consider switching to a faster model for quick tasks.

5. Error messages or failed actions

Possible Causes:

  • Incorrect input format or missing required fields.

  • Attempting an unsupported operation.

  • Temporary service issues.

How to Fix:

  • Review any error messages for details about what went wrong.

  • Double-check your inputs and try again.

  • If the problem continues, consult the documentation or contact support.
