Ensure you have a Rootabl Tracking code installed

First you will want to make sure that the product page or website you want your affiliates to advertise and use has a 'Rootabl Tracking Code' properly installed. Check out our documentation folder located here for steps on how to add it properly for your specific platform.

Add a Promo Link

Once this is confirmed to be working properly, click on the "Campaigns" tab on the left side of your browser > "Promotion Materials" tab. This will bring you to your page that has a 2 sections. Promo Links & Promo Area.

Promo Area can be edited with the instructions located in our separate help document.

Promo Leads is what we are focused on! Click on "Add Link" on the right hand side of this page:

Add a new link that you would like to be tracked. This is the page that you want your affiliates to advertise and direct traffic towards.

Clicking on the "Affiliates" tab located next to "Promo Materials" is going to give you the list of your affiliates for this campaign. If you click on "Links" on their row...

You'll see that for every link you have added as a promo link/tracking link, the affiliate will have their own unique URL they can spread to their own individual network.

To test that this works you will need to use a real affiliate that is on your campaign. You can even add yourself as an affiliate temporarily and remove yourself later if you would like.

How to Verify Your Affiliate Link Is Working

1. Open Your Promotion Link

Click your Promotion Link directly from your affiliate dashboard.

2. Use a Test Email

In the signup form on the landing page:

  • Enter a test email address (your own email)

    • Tip: Use a variation like yourname+test@gmail.com so it still lands in your inbox but counts as a unique email.

  • You do not have to submit the form. The tracking link will automatically capture the email address after you have entered it in the field and clicked either into the next box or elsewhere on the page.

3. Confirm the Lead in Rootabl

Now switch back to Rootabl:

  1. Go to your 'Leads' page.

  2. If you don’t see your test email right away then refresh the page.

  3. Your test email should appear within moments if tracking is working.

There should be little to no delay to show a "lead". Navigate to your "Reports" page on the left side" and then click on "Leads" to check if your test email is showing along with the affiliate's name to the right of the table:

If your test email does not show up, notify us right away at hello@rootabl.com. We can dig deeper into the root of why this may not be showing up for your platform and your product pages specifically.
