Why am I not receiving notifications about app blocking?

Notifications you should receive:

  • Time Limit

    • When limit is reached

    • When 5 min of limit remains

    • When 50 per cent of limit remains

  • Downtime

    • When downtime starts

    • When downtime ends

  • Screen Time alerts: Hourly updates on your usage

  • Weekly reports: Get notified when your weekly report is ready

  • Marketing: Get notified about new features and special offers

  • Block Now: When your manual blocks end


Troubleshoot notifications:

If you are not receiving notifications, please check the following:

  1. Do you have "Push Notifications" enabled for Roots on your phone?

    1. Go to "iOS Settings > Notifications"

    2. Find Roots

    3. Be sure permissions are turned on (Screenshot below)

  2. Do you have "Notifications" enabled for your Roots account

    1. Go to "Roots > Profile > Account Settings (top of the screen) > Notifications"

    2. Toggle on notifications for "Time Limit" and "Downtime" (Screenshot below)
