Why am I not receiving notifications about app blocking?

Notifications you should receive:

You should receive the following push notifications related to your app blocking:

  • "Screen Time" alerts

    • Get notified for every hour of screen time

  • "Time Limit"

    • When you are 5 minutes from reaching your limit

    • When you reach your limit

  • "Downtime"

    • When your block starts

    • When your block ends

  • "Block Now"

    • When your block ends

  • Marketing

    • Get notified about new features and special offers

Troubleshoot notifications:

If you are not receiving notifications, please check the following:

  1. Do you have "Push Notifications" enabled for Roots on your phone?

    1. Go to "iOS Settings > Notifications"

    2. Find Roots

    3. Be sure permissions are turned on

  2. Do you have "Notifications" enabled for your Roots account

    1. Go to "Roots > Profile > Account Settings (top of the screen) > Notifications"

    2. Toggle on notifications for "Time Limits" and "Time of Day"
