Why am I not receiving notifications about app blocking?

Notifications you should receive:

You should receive the following push notifications related to your app blocking:

  • "App Limits":

    • When you are 5 minutes from reaching your limit

    • When you reach your limit

  • "App Downtime":

    • When your downtime starts

    • When your downtime ends

  • "On-Demand Blocking":

    • When your downtime ends

Troubleshoot notifications:

If you are not receiving notifications, please check the following:

  1. Do you have "Push Notifications" enabled for Roots on your phone?

    1. Go to "iOS Settings > Notifications"

    2. Find Roots

    3. Be sure permissions are turned on

  2. Do you have "Notifications" enabled for your Roots account

    1. Go to "Roots > Profile > Settings > Notifications"

    2. Toggle on notifications for app limits and downtimes
