How do I use 'App Groups'?

App Groups allow you to save selected apps and websites and re-use them for limits, downtime, and on-demand blocking. This keeps you from having to re-select the apps for each type of blocking you set up.

Let’s say you want to manage your social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Without app groups, you’d have to:

  1. Add them one by one when creating 'Downtime'.

  2. Select each app individually for 'App Limits'.

  3. Manually choose them again when joining 'Challenges'.

Wouldn’t it be much easier to group these apps into one category called “Social Media”? That way, whenever you create a downtime, app limit, or participate in challenges, you can simply select the app group instead of repeating the process for each app.

To start using app groups:

  1. Go to Profile > Settings > App Groups in the app.

  2. Create app groups like “Social Media,” “Work Apps,” or “News & Entertainment.”

  3. The next time you set app limits, downtime, or join challenges, just tap on 'Apps to Block'. You should see the screen below, which have the App Groups displayed (in the header).

  4. Click on 'App Groups' and select the App Groups that you want to block.
