If you're seeing "Remove App" when you long-press on apps while "App Uninstall Protection" is enabled during "Monk Mode," don't worry—this is actually working as designed! Let's clarify exactly how this feature works.
What "App Uninstall Protection" prevents:
When "App Uninstall Protection" is enabled during "Monk Mode," it prevents you from permanently deleting apps from your device. However, you can still remove apps from your Home Screen.
The difference between "Remove" and "Delete":
"Remove App" (from Home Screen):
The app disappears from your Home Screen but stays installed on your device
You can still find and use the app in your App Library
The app and all its data remain on your phone
This is what you'll see when "App Uninstall Protection" is active
"Delete App" (permanent removal):
The app is completely uninstalled from your device
All app data is permanently removed
You'd need to re-download from the App Store to use it again
This option is blocked when "App Uninstall Protection" is enabled
How to tell if it's working:
When "App Uninstall Protection" is active, you should only see "Remove App" when you long-press on app icons. The "Delete App" option should not appear.
If you check your App Library after removing an app from the Home Screen, you should still be able to find and launch the app from there.
Test it yourself:
Try removing an app (like Roots) from your Home Screen while "App Uninstall Protection" is enabled, then swipe left to your App Library. You should still be able to find and launch that app, confirming the protection is working correctly.
