We're here to help.
First off, we know this can be frustrating. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, due to how Apple's App Store subscription system works, you cannot directly switch from an annual plan to a monthly plan mid-subscription. Apple requires the current subscription period to complete before switching to a different plan type.
Here's what you can do:
Option 1: Get a refund and switch to monthly
If you were recently charged for the annual plan and would prefer monthly billing instead, we're happy to help with a refund:
Step 1: Request a refund
First, try requesting the refund through Apple here: https://reportaproblem.apple.com
Sign in with your Apple ID
Find the Roots charge and select "Report a Problem"
Choose your reason and submit the request
Apple typically processes refunds within 48 hours
Step 2: If Apple's refund doesn't work
If Apple doesn't approve the refund within 48 hours, don't worry - we've got you covered:
Send us your PayPal or Venmo ID by contacting us here
Unfortunately, we can't process refunds directly through the App Store, but we can work around that and will send it to you directly
We offer a 30-day money back guarantee, so we'll make sure you're taken care of
Step 3: Subscribe to monthly
Once you receive the refund and your annual subscription is cancelled:
Open Roots
Go to Profile > Account Settings
Tap on your subscription
Select the Monthly Plan
Option 2: Wait for annual plan to expire
Alternatively, you can:
Keep using Roots with your annual subscription until it expires
Before it renews, cancel the annual plan through iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Roots > Cancel Subscription
After cancellation, subscribe to the monthly plan instead
