Great question! We totally understand why you'd want your "Streak" tied to your screen time goals - it makes a lot of sense.
Right now, "Streaks" only track whether you stay within your blocks, not your total screen time. This means you can go over your daily screen time goal and your "Streak" will continue increasing.
How "Streaks" currently work
Your "Streak" is maintained by:
Staying within your set blocks each day
Not unblocking apps after you've exceeded your daily unblocks
Your "Streak" is not affected by:
Going over your daily screen time goal
Completing or not completing your "Daily Goals"
Why this limitation exists
We're currently limited by the Apple Screen Time API and how we can use screen time data to create accountability features like streak breaking. Apple's system doesn't give us the flexibility we need to tie "Streaks" directly to screen time goals.
Good news - we're working on it!
We've heard from many people who would love to have their "Streak" break when they exceed their daily screen time goal.
We're actively exploring workarounds that would allow us to do exactly what you're describing. It's one of our most highly requested features, and we're optimistic we can figure something out soon.
In the meantime
While we work on this feature, you might find these approaches helpful:
Use "Time Limit" blocks with "Monk Mode" to enforce strict daily app usage limits
Set up "Downtime" blocks during your highest temptation times
Track your progress manually by checking your screen time vs. goal on the Home tab
We completely understand this isn't the same as having your "Streak" automatically reflect screen time goals, but it can help create additional accountability.
