Which difficulty setting should I use?

Updated over a week ago

We recommend trying out a combination of difficulty settings with your app blocking.

One popular set up is to use "Monk Mode" on your app limits, and "Normal Mode" on your downtime. This gives you some flexibility during the day, but keeps you from going over your overall limit!

Difficulty Settings for App Limits:

  • Normal Mode:

    • Apps are blocked after a set amount of usage

    • After limit is reached, you can unblock 5 minutes at at time

  • Intentional Mode:

    • Apps are blocked by default

    • You can unblock them a certain number of times per day

  • Monk Mode:

    • Apps are blocked after a set amount of usage

    • After limit is reached, you can't unblock until tomorrow

Difficulty Settings for App Downtimes:

  • Normal Mode:

    • During downtime, you can take unlimited 5 minute breaks

    • You can easily edit and delete your downtime

  • Intentional Mode:

    • During downtime, you can take a set number of 5 minute breaks

    • You can't edit or delete when downtime is active

  • Monk Mode:

    • During downtime, you can't take any breaks

    • You can't edit or delete when downtime is active
