MyLeagues: Syncing Your League + Common Troubleshooting Steps

Having trouble getting your league to connect? Here are some steps to try out before contacting support.

Updated over 3 months ago

Invalid Credentials

Far and away, the most common issue with adding a league is invalid credentials. We ask that before contacting support, you go to the league site itself, log out and log back in. If successful, you'll at least know you're using the correct information, and we can proceed with troubleshooting from there. If not, you can solve the issue by retrieving your username/e-mail from the league site and potentially resetting your password.

Here is a general tutorial video for adding leagues via the MyLeagues section:

ESPN Imports

The ESPN import process is a bit more complex than the other sites, so there are a handful of users that are unable to directly import into the MyLeagues feature in the traditional manner. Not to fear, we have a workaround in place. Here are the steps in the process:

  1. You'll need to download our Chrome extension from here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rotowire/caljiholplhibonecblicbgjkakcpmmm. This will only work with our Chrome extension, it will not work with the Firefox extension. It also needs to be on desktop, as the extensions don't work on mobile devices.

  2. After you have installed the extension, then you can go to our site and add your ESPN league just like you did in the past. This time, it will redirect you to ESPN to log in and then redirect you back to our site after you've logged in.

  3. Once you are redirected back to our site you'll be shown all your available leagues. The rest of the process is exactly the same as before.

  4. After you've uploaded the league in the MyLeagues feature, you will be able to view it on a mobile device or alternative browser. However, the extension installation needs to happen with Google Chrome.

CBS Imports

Similar to ESPN, CBS has made changes to their site that also require the Crome extension. Here are those steps:

  1. You'll need to download our Chrome extension from here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rotowire/caljiholplhibonecblicbgjkakcpmmm. This will only work with our Chrome extension, it will not work with the Firefox extension. It also needs to be on a laptop or desktop, as the extensions don't work on mobile devices.

  2. After you have installed the extension, then you can go to our site and add your CBS league just like you did in the past. This time, it will redirect you to CBS to log in and then redirect you back to our site after you've logged in.

  3. Once you are redirected back to our site you'll be shown all your available leagues. The rest of the process is the same as before.

  4. After you've uploaded the league in the MyLeagues feature, you will be able to view it on a mobile device or alternative browser. However, the extension installation needs to happen with Google Chrome.

  5. Note, that if you have previously downloaded our Chrome extension, you will need to update the extension to the latest version.

Fantrax Imports

Here are the steps that should allow you to successfully import your Fantrax league:

2) It will try to find your league, then when you get the error again, click the link to "login into a different Fantrax account."

3) This page will ask you for your secret ID. The link for that is here, https://www.fantrax.com/newui/userProfile.go. The "secret ID" is right next to your username.

Other Import FAQs

Q: Is there a maximum number of leagues?

A: No, we do not limit the number of leagues that a user can import. However, please note that a large number of leagues (think 50+) could cause some delays in load times for some features of the MyLeagues section.

Q: Can you claim two teams from the same league?

A: No, this is not supported.

Q: I don't have access to a desktop/Google Chrome. What do I do now?

A: While our dev team is considering adding alternatives in the future, the Chrome extension is the only way to import ESPN and CBS leagues at this time. Fortunately, you only need to do the import process once for it to work all season, so borrowing a device for a one-time import is an option. As a last resort, you can e-mail your log-in credentials to our support team at support@rotowire.com and have one of our customer service agents handle the import on your behalf. For security reasons, we recommend first changing your password on the site to something generic before sharing it.

Q: What league types are accommodated?

A: We accommodate just about every traditional season-long fantasy format, but there are some unique/niche types that are not supported by the tool, particularly if the contest is brand new on a smaller site or far off from a traditional fantasy format. Some postseason-only contests also cannot be accommodated. This is also not a DFS tool, and not every Best Ball format is accommodated. If you have a highly unique contest format, that could explain a failed import, or why certain features of MyLeagues don't appear to be working correctly.

Q: What do I do if I can't find my league hosting site on the menu?

A: We try to accommodate every major platform, but there will always be emerging or niche platforms that we haven't had time to add yet. We do require a certain level of access and cooperation with each league site to be able to support it, so that's often a reason why one may be left out. We welcome user feedback, however, so please reach out to support@rotowire.com to request a certain site or app be added. In the meantime, we recommend using the Custom League feature -- your roster must be maintained manually, but many of the features are still usable with custom leagues.
