MLB My Leagues Overview

Learn how to get the most of out of some of the key features in My Leagues

My Leagues is RotoWire’s hub for any Fantasy manager wanting an edge on their competition, making it easy to keep your fingers on the pulse of the action and make the tough decisions that become league-winning moves.

After you've imported your league, you’ll want to make sure all your roster and scoring settings are correct so you’re getting information tailored to your league.

Once that is in place, you can start putting My Leagues to work for you.

Although a lot of the value here is for in-season success, you can also put the features here to use during draft prep.

First, you’ll find a cheatsheet built specifically for your league in the My Leagues navigation bar. You can also select your league on our custom rankings and auction values pages to gear those options to your league’s settings. We also include the option to export your league to our Draft Assistant, where your settings will be reflected. Then, depending on your league’s host site, you may be able to live sync your draft.

Once draft season is done, though, My Leagues really gets to shine.

Whether it’s keeping up on the latest news impacting your team, needing a hand deciding which players to put in your lineup, quickly identifying players who could improve your team, or just wanting to see how your team is projected to perform, My Leagues has you covered. Yes, there are trade tools, too.

Getting the most out of the My League features:

News

One of the most convenient features of My Leagues is being able to get instantaneous news on your roster. Did your shortstop just leave the game with an injury, or has one of your starting pitchers had their start pushed back? As soon as we post an update, you’ll get an email with the news so you can act quickly on any potential lineup or roster changes you need to make.

To activate this feature, please make sure to choose “Manage Email Alerts” at the top of the My Leagues home page, and check the box for your league.

Best Lineup

Whether you update your lineup once a week, every day, or something in between, our best lineup feature will make certain you're submitting the highest projected lineup possible.

You can either use the default options under “Dates” or select a custom option under “Date Range,” then select “Get Best Lineup.”

One thing to keep in mind when using this feature is that if a player is scheduled to come off the IL, we will project them as such. However, there is no guarantee a player will come off the IL when they’re eligible to, so you may want to exercise caution when including players who are on the IL and appear in the best lineup, if there isn’t more specific news suggesting that they will.

In that scenario, if you want to remove a player from the Best Lineup for that reason, or any other, you can click the down arrow on their position, select Bench, then hit the lock tab next to it.

After doing so, select “Get Best Lineup again,” and you will get a version with that player on the bench.

Top Free Agents

Did you just get a news alert from us that one of your guys hit the IL, or someone is not hitting expectations, and looking for an upgrade? The Top Free Agents tab should get you on the right track.

When hitting that tab, you’ll find two options:

Custom Projections is a great option if you’re just looking for a fill-in while a guy is scheduled to be on the IL, while Rest Of Season is your go-to when in need of a longer-term upgrade.

When on ROS Projections, across the top, you’ll have the option to select specific positions, whether you want to include your team (will be highlighted in green, as seen below), whether or not to include players currently in the minors, and then lastly, the Add/Drop suggestions tab.

The Add/Drop suggestions tab is the quickest way to get instant suggestions for where your team could improve.

In this instance, one of the suggestions it is giving me is to add Adolis Garcia and drop Jackson Chourio. As can be seen here, based on my league’s scoring and our ROS projections, Garcia is the No. 87-ranked player, while Chourio is No. 116. I can also compare each player's projection in my league's categories for the rest of the season.

Keep in mind, the color-coding isn’t based on how they rank against each other, but the league as a whole in those categories.

Trade Analysis

The trade analysis section gives you four options to look at potential moves to solidify your squad.

The Trade Analyzer will allow you to input any players you want and see the impact on your team for the rest of the season, based on our projections.

This option may be best used when someone offers you a trade. You can input the players you would be giving up, toggle to the team offering the trade, select the players they’re offering, and select analyze trade.

Upon doing so, this is the view you will get.

You’ll see that this is a fairly close trade on the surface. The impact it would have on our Power Rankings calculation for each team is minimal, and I’d be losing 9.9 points over the course of the entire season. Also, if you’re in a keeper or more so a dynasty league, we also offer a “Beyond This Season” score on trades.

Ultimately, this is unlikely to be a trade worth doing, unless it’s to beef up at another position, and you’re in desperate need with no other options. However, that scenario should still be taken into account with those scores and projections.

When you’re looking to move a specific player and looking for the best realistic options, your top option will likely be to use the “Trade Finder.”

Select which player you’re looking to move, and automatically get a list of players who would represent a fair trade.

You can also add filters to adjust the results you receive.

The last two options under trade analysis are “Player Finder” and “Player Comparison.”

Player Finder aids you in locating players who meet specific criteria. Desperately need steals and RBIs?

I can filter those stats for certain thresholds. For example, I can put in players projected for at least 50 RBIs and 20 SBs for the rest of the season and get a list of matching players. If I click the blue “Analyze” tab, I’ll be taken to the trade analyzer with that player selected, and I can start trying to make a trade that makes sense.

Lastly, the “Player Comparison” tool does exactly as described. Select any two players, and see their ranking and their stats for the current season, side-by-side, with green used to indicate who is the leader.
