Placing a bid using the preset number keys
RFH Auction uses the same number keys as KOA by default, and these can be customised if required (see settings under the ‘Number Keys’ tab).
By pressing one of these keys whilst auctioning, a bid is placed for the number of units represented by that number key at the price you wish to bid.
Please note: to place a bid, the purchase screen must be in focus; if it is not, a message will appear.
Clicking on the clock circle will return focus to the clock.
Placing a bid using the numeric keypad
If available on the keyboard (NB: ensure NumLock is ON);
Press ‘0’ on the numeric keypad; this immediately places a bid for the minimum purchase quantity
Press a number between 1 and 9 on the numeric keypad; this immediately places a bid for that number of units.
If the supplier has specified a sales unit of ‘Per Layer’ for the lot, this will be displayed next to the minimum purchase quantity in the auction circle.

Select a number between 1 and 9 on the numeric keypad; place a bid for this number of layers immediately.
If the supplier has specified a sales unit of ‘Per Trolley’ for the batch, this is displayed next to the minimum purchase quantity in the auction ring.
The minimum purchase quantity shows the number of units per trolley.
Select a number between 1 and 9 on the numeric keypad; place a bid immediately for this number of trolleys.
Press ‘+’ on the numeric keypad; place a bid immediately for the remainder (the number still available).
Placing a bid from a Mark
If you have specified a number of units for the mark, that number will be carried over when the lot comes under the hammer.
Press the ‘Space bar’; place a bid immediately for this number of units.
Placing and finalising a bid
When you press the buy button (quantity button, numeric keypad or space bar), your bid is submitted. The first bid wins. In multi transaction auctioning (MTV), multiple bids may be placed during a single auction session.
Once a purchase has been made, you will see the price and quantity of the last purchase within the clock circle and a green dot next to the clock position.
If you have secured the purchase (you have won), this is indicated by:
The price and quantity of the last purchase are highlighted on a green background
The clock circle turns green
A new purchase agreement is added to the purchase agreements
Optionally, if enabled in settings – Notifications, a sound is played to indicate a successful purchase.
Consolidation
Consolidation takes place after the first successful bid on the next lot. This involves consolidating all purchase agreements for the previously auctioned lot; these may no longer be amended or cancelled.
Once the purchase agreement has been consolidated, it is displayed in light grey.
Handling errors
A buyer can contact the auctioneer at the main clock by setting the clock to ‘high’.
If the auctioneer wishes to respond, they will establish a two-way audio connection, allowing the buyer to speak to the auctioneer temporarily; other buyers cannot hear the buyer. The microphone is switched on and the bidder receives a notification that they are in contact with the auctioneer. As soon as the auction resumes, audio flows only from the auctioneer to the bidders.
Displaying marked lots from RFH Pre-Auction
In the RFH Pre-Auction, the supply list can be viewed and lots can be marked with a quantity and/or comment, if provided. Within RFH Auction, such a marked lot is displayed in a number of ways;
If the marked lot is about to go under the hammer, a small counter is displayed in the auction overview or next to the lot.
If the marked lot is about to go under the hammer, a light orange background is displayed in the upcoming lots overview.
If the marked lot is currently under the hammer, the lot details are displayed against an orange background, along with any specified quantity and comments.
