Which settings and additions make using RFH Photo easier.

Organization Settings

Through Royal FloraHolland’s settings, you can add your organization’s logo. The logo can be placed in various locations, such as added to a product photo or automatically framed.

A logo can be a .JPG file or a .PNG file. In the latter case, the logo can also be transparent, so that it is placed over the photo while the photo remains visible in the background.

Organization settings, as the name suggests, apply organization-wide, regardless of which user is working with RFH Photo for that organization.

Using Detail Photos

Through the gallery, you can also add photos of the type ‘detail.’ If you want the detail photo to be automatically added to a product photo, you need to link it to a specific item in your catalog. You can also add the detail photo to the catalog itself, but that is not required.

The detail photo itself can also be edited, for example by removing the background.

A product photo can also be added in different places and in various formats. This can also be set as a standard in the Organization Settings.

If you choose to automatically add the detail photo, the correct photo is selected as follows:

  1. The preference is the detail photo of the same item as the product photo to which the detail photo is added. If multiple detail photos are linked to an item, the most recent one is always used.

  2. If there is no detail photo of the same item, the most recent detail photo of another item with the same VBN product code is selected.

Often, the detail photo for a VBN product code is always the same. If that is the case for you, you don’t need to add the same photo to every item; it is sufficient to add it to one item in the gallery with the correct VBN product code.

Adjusting the Background of a Photo

It can sometimes be difficult to always have a nice, uniform background for your product photos. Often, a special photo studio is used for this, where a crate or tray must be placed.

RFH Photo also has an option to remove the background and replace it with your own background color. This can be a solid color, but a light color gradient can also be used. The color to be used can be chosen and saved in the organization settings so that every user for an organization works with the same background.

Note: In some cases, the background remover does not work as expected, and part of your product disappears from the photo, or something remains visible in the background. This often happens when the contrast between the actual background and your product is not large enough. Possible solutions include adjusting the lighting or taking the photo in a different location.

Different Photo Types

When adding a new photo, you can choose a clock photo or another type. These other types of photos are visible to buyers using RFH Photo, allowing them to see high-quality photos during auctions or in ‘Photo Live!’

In the future, these additional photos will also be viewable in the Floriday Explorer and in the Pre Auction App (expected around mid-2026).

Commonly used photos include the trolley photo, where the entire trolley is visible, and the photo of one layer of a trolley.

Adding a Measuring Stick

For lots of plants sold at the auction, using a measuring stick is mandatory. In some situations, it can be quite difficult to get this correctly in the photo. With RFH Photo, you can automatically add a measuring stick to a plant photo. The condition is that a plant height (characteristic type P02) is linked to the item in the catalog. The provided plant height is then printed as a scale on the measuring stick.
