How does the dinner budget work?

Choose the highest price you're comfortable paying.

When you sign up, you'll select your maximum dinner budget.

This tells us the highest-priced restaurant you're willing to be matched with.

Will I always be matched to that budget?

Not always.

We create tables based on group size, compatibility, and restaurant availability. If there aren't enough guests in your budget tier to create a full table, you may be matched to a lower-priced restaurant.

You'll never be matched to a restaurant above the budget you selected.

Why does this happen?

Our goal is to create the best possible dinner experience.

Sometimes that means combining budget tiers so we can create full tables with great matches, rather than splitting guests into very small groups.

For example, if only two people choose the $$$ budget, they may be matched with a $$ restaurant instead of dining as a table of two.

What do the budget tiers mean?

  • $ — Fast casual (burgers, tacos, pizza)

  • $$ — Casual sit-down (bistros, ramen, tapas)

  • $$$ — Upscale dining (steakhouses, seafood, tasting menus)

Choose the highest budget you're comfortable with, and we'll do our best to match you accordingly.
