When a job is presented to you, simply click accept and head to the pickup location.

When you receive a delivery opportunity, you will be able to see the pick-up and drop-off locations and the estimated amount of time it will take to complete. Please make sure to check that you are okay with the delivery requirements before accepting.

Picking up Deliveries

When you arrive at the pick-up location, let the client know that you are there and ready to collect. You can then move to the 'Arrived at Pick-Up' state. Check the customer reference number on the package with the one that you have on the Ryde app. If this is all correct, place the order securely in your thermal bag and confirm you have collected the order on your app. This will update the delivery time for the customer automatically and give you the best possible route to get there.

Delivering Orders

Best practices when delivering orders:

  • Always have the customer tell you their name and double-check the order number.

  • Only 'complete delivery' when the package is safely in the hands of the customer.

Delivering Alcohol

It’s Ryde's policy that you must check the customer’s ID for all orders containing age-restricted items, even if the customer looks older than the legal age for buying those items.

It’s against the law to sell age-restricted products to anyone under the age of 18. It’s important to remember to check a customer's age when delivering orders that contain age-restricted products as it is your responsibility to make sure that you don’t deliver age-restricted products to someone under 18.

When you pick up an order from the restaurant, check the receipt to make yourself aware if alcohol is included and take steps to ensure that the customer you deliver to is over 18.

When you deliver an order containing alcohol, it’s important that you don’t hand over any alcohol to a customer who already appears to be drunk or under the influence of drugs.

See here for more information on delivering age-restricted items.
