Email verification code - Employee logins

How to log in to Sage HR as using an email verification code.

When logging in using an Employee Sage account, sometimes you receive a code by email to verify that it's you logging in.

If Sage HR asks you for a code, check the inbox for the email address you used to log in. Open the email and enter the 6‑digit code on the Verify your email address screen to finish signing in.

📎NOTE: If your employer has enabled 2-factor authentication (2FA) for their Sage company, you already have extra security on your login. You won't receive an email verification code. Instead, log in as normal using your 2FA method.

I haven't received the code

If you haven't received the code when trying to log in, click Resend code at the bottom of the Verify your email address page.

Allow up to 10 minutes to receive this code.

If you still don't receive the code, check your junk/spam folder and ensure your email security doesn't block donotreply@notify.sage.com.

Contact your employer if the issue persists. They can investigate this further with Sage support.

'The code you entered is not correct try again.'

If you enter the code, but it's not accepted, this can be because of the following reasons:

  • You entered the code incorrectly

  • You entered the wrong code

  • The code has expired after 10 minutes

  • You've not entered the most recent code sent

Click Resend code, and make sure to enter this new code.

📌TIP: Don't close or refresh the login screen when going to your emails. This will trigger sending a new code, which will make the previous code invalid.

I keep receiving new codes

If you're repeatedly sent new codes, this will either be because:

  • You're clicking the Resend code option

  • You're closing or refreshing the login page, which triggers a new code

📎NOTE: On your phone, opening a link from an email can open it inside the email app. If it does this, close it and open the link in your browser to view the verification code.

I received a code that I didn't request

If you receive an email from donotreply@notify.sage.com with a 6-digit code but you aren't trying to log in, change your password immediately. This is the password you use to log in to Sage HR or Sage Employee Online Services.

You can do this by using the forgot password option on the login screen. We also recommend that you inform your employer so they can investigate this further with Sage support.

Do I have to verify my email address every time?

You won’t see this step every time you sign in. It appears when you use a new device or after some time has passed since your last login.

Can I disable the email verification code process?

Sage enforces this security step, and you can’t turn it off. You won’t see it every time you sign in. An admin can also turn on 2FA so you can use an app on your phone or get a code by text or call instead.

Can I receive a code to my phone instead of my email address?

Your admin can turn on 2FA, so you sign in using Sage Verify, a mobile authenticator app, or a code sent by text or call.
