Before a new hire can start work, their details need to be entered into SaucedIt and linked to the correct role, contract and compliance documents. Inviting an employee creates their profile, begins the onboarding process and provides them with access to the platform. This guide explains how to send an invitation and set up a new employee record.
Quick Guide
Inviting a New Employee
Before inviting a new employee, ensure you have either created a new job role for them in SaucedIt, or have an existing position for them.
From the top banner, select Invite New Staff.
Enter the employee’s details, ensuring you fill in all the fields.
Choose the appropriate job title from the existing list.
If the correct title does not appear, go back and create a new job role or position from the Dashboard before inviting a new employee.
If the employee is a contractor, click the Is Contractor box to enter their business name and ABN.
Click Save to continue or Close to exit.
From the pop-up box, select Send Invite to email the employee their personalised link to SaucedIt.
Choose the appropriate contract from your existing templates.
To edit the selected contract template, choose Amend Contract.
To insert pre-populated fields, such as the employee’s name or the business’s name, first click on the relevant area in the contract.
From the drop-down box to the left of Insert, select the field you would like to insert.
Next, click on INSERT. Repeat this process for as many pre-populated fields as you wish.
These changes will only apply to this contract, without saving to the contract template.
To edit the default contract template, navigate to Admin > Account Settings > HR Documents > Update > Add/Edit Employment Contract.
Before sending, click on Preview to ensure the contract is correct.
If you are happy with the preview, click Close to proceed. If you want to make changes, close the preview and repeat the steps to amend and preview the contract until you are satisfied.
Select the employee’s start date.
Choose the correct employment type.
Set the probation period to 6 months.
Select the team or teams the employee will belong to.
From Compliance Documents, choose the items required to be acknowledged by the employee.
An employee should acknowledge all of the chosen policies and documents before their first shift.
Select the applicable award.
Pick the appropriate agreement.
Choose the primary work location.
If applicable, add any additional locations the employee may be required to work.
For a custom pay rate, or to create an annual salary, select Set Up Pay Rates.
After entering all necessary details, select Send Invite to complete the process.
