Why is the online notary (Proof.com) making me share a USA address with them when I do not have a USA address?

First, keep in mind that Proof.com is a different company than SavvyNomad with their own policies, and there are other online notary services you can use in place of Proof.

Proof focuses on providing online notary services to current or former US residents. As part of this process, they ask for your Social Security Number and a US address. Neither of these pieces of info will show up on your notarized document (or be shared with SavvyNomad). It's simply for Proof.com's own records.

If you do not have an address to use, you can also choose to use a different online notary service (like BlueNotary.us). You can find an online video tutorial showing you how to do this HERE. Clicking this link will take you to the relevant timecode where we discuss BlueNotary, though we would encourage you to watch the entire video to ensure you complete the form correctly.
