If you already have a Texas driver's license, there are two things you might need to do — update the address on it, or renew it. Both can usually be done online, with no trip to Texas.

Updating the address to your SavvyNomad address
This is the most common one, and the easier of the two. You can do it online through Texas by Texas (TxT).
Use your residential address — not your mailing address.
Your license must be currently valid. If it has expired, renew it first, then update the address.
It must not be suspended, revoked, or disqualified.
An address change is not affected by the renewal rules below.
Renewing your Texas license
You can renew online from two years before your license expires until two years after it has expired.
The rule that matters most for our customers: your last renewal must have been done in person. Because your original Texas license was issued in person at a DPS office, your first renewal can be done online — the one after that will need to be in person again.
You also need to be a U.S. citizen with your Social Security number on file with DPS, be under 79, and hold a Class C, M, or CM license (or a CDL without a hazmat endorsement).
