V2 Setting up SMS in Savvy Pet Spa

Updated today

Setting up SMS in Savvy allows you to automate customer communications, such as reminders and updates. Follow this guide to configure SMS settings, customise templates, and manage messaging effectively.

SMS sent will use 1 SMS credit for a message of 160 characters or fewer and 2 credits for 160+ and so on.

Every plan has an SMS allocation. If you need more SMS, you can review your usage and purchase more SMS by clicking on the speech bubble top right in your Savvy.

SMS bundle purchases have no time limit and will stay on your account if you need them, perfect if you want to make use of the large bundle discounts. Savvy will always use your included credits first, which renew on the 1st of each month.

SMS numbers with Savvy Pet Spa

When savvy sends an SMS to a customer, it uses one of our ‘pre-bought’ numbers from Twilio. What savvy does is ‘associate’ a pre-bought number with a customer number for that particular salon.

So, if another salon attempts to send a message to the same customer, they will get associated with a different ‘pre-bought’ number, so when the customer replies to a message, the message gets routed back through to the correct salon.

This basically means a given salon talks to a customer on a protected ‘channel’.

We have bought a new set of numbers, and each message that gets sent out (or reply that comes back in) will be using one of these protected channels.

We currently have numbers available in:

  • United Kingdom UK

  • United States US

  • Australia AUS

  • New Zealand NZ

Outside of these countries, you will be using a number from the above countries for your clients.
