How to Add a Child to a 2nd Family

This article will take you through the steps to add a child to your family who is already a part of another family in Bound.

Bound's Activity Registration and the Family Dashboard have the capability to add children to multiple families. This accommodates for two family households where each parent wants to see and manage their student on their own family dashboard.

This feature enables you to keep your personal information separate from the other family's while simultaneously completing tasks for your shared children.

Add the Child to Your Family

  1. Go to your Bound Family Dashboard and, click Add Child in the top right of the 'Quick Actions' bar.

  2. Click the Add New Child button in the pop up.

  3. Fill out the required fields with your child's information. Click Next when completed.

  4. Choose the School/Organization that this child is a part of.

  5. Enter your child's Student ID number and click Find Student to bring up the student with the matching ID. This will allow you to find your student (child) that is already in the Bound system.

    1. You may need to request access before adding the child. When you require access, the child you're trying to add will appear locked. Click Request access next to the child's name to send the family a request.

  6. Verify the student brought up is correct, then click Next.

  7. The final page allows you to send an invite to this student to give them access to your family portal with their own account. Clicking Add to Family will complete the process.
