Community guidelines for using a Varsity Bound Media account

Updated over 2 years ago

Welcome to the Bound Media Community!

We appreciate you and your contribution to helping teams, athletes, schools and their communities celebrate the high school sports experience! As part of the Bound Media Community, we require that the following guidelines be followed. Failure to do so may result in the removal of your media access to the Varsity Bound platform. Questions can be sent to hello@varsitybound.com

Bound Media Community Guidelines (subject to change)

School’s Control Their Public Pages (TLDR: FOLLOW THIS RULE!)

As users of Bound, schools are provided public pages for their school and sports. Those pages are controlled by the school, their staff, and Bound. Bound media access allows you to select and post links to articles on these pages, and in some cases, their social media accounts. Any articles posted to these pages deemed negative, degrading, inappropriate, and/or anything else that doesn't celebrate the high school sports experience, are subject to removal by the school and Bound (e.g. an article about a coach forgetting to renew their coaching license is not helping anyone celebrate high school sports). We take this issue very seriously, failure to follow this guideline will result in swift removal of media access, and in extreme cases, could result in the removal of the article posting feature for all media members.

Bound Controls All Public Pages

In addition to articles being posted on school and team pages, they are also displayed in various places on Bound public pages and the Bound app. Any articles posted to these pages deemed negative, degrading, inappropriate, and/or anything else that doesn't celebrate the high school sports experience, are subject to removal by Bound. We take this issue very seriously, failure to follow this guideline will result in swift removal of media access, and in extreme cases, could result in the removal of the article posting feature for all media members.

No Advertising Displayed On The Bound Platform

When posting articles and live stream links, no advertising should directly show on the Bound platform. This includes headings, summaries, thumbnails, and any other publicly displayed part of the article/stream that shows on the Bound platform (exceptions may apply for schools posting this info directly). This does not include advertising in your article, website, stream etc. As a contributor to the high school sports community we hope posting to our site helps direct more traffic to your content and helps you sell more advertising!

No Spam Article or Livestream Links

Spam articles or spam live stream links of any kind will not be tolerated. Local media is rarely the source of these, however spam links are a big problem in high school sports right now, and we work very hard to keep them out of the Bound platform.
