Building a Grid Visualisation

A guide on how to build your own grid visualisation in ScorebuddyCX BI

Written by Jane Lydon

ScorebuddyCX BI allows you to create custom report pages with a range of visualisation types. This article walks through how to add a new page and build a grid visualisation using the Standard Reports dossier as an example.

Step 1: Add a new page

  • From Standard Reports, click the edit icon to open the report editor.

  • In the contents panel, click the three dots beside By Score Date.

  • Select Insert Page.

  • When the new page is created, Scorebuddy BI will automatically generate a basic visualisation in grid format.

Step 2: Switch to free form layout

  • Click the interlocking squares icon in the top right of the visualisation. This converts the page to a free form layout, which allows you to position, resize, and layer objects. Visualisations can be dragged and dropped freely within this layout.

Step 3: Choose a visualisation type

  • Click the bar graph icon to browse the available visualisation types. Each option includes a description and an example to help you choose the most appropriate format for your data.

Step 4: Build a grid report (example: average score by staff member)

  • Switch from the Contents to Dataset panel on the left hand side.

  • Search for the Staff attribute in the datasets panel and drag it to the Rows field.

  • Search for the Score metric and drag it to the Metrics field.

  • To rename the visualisation, right click the three dots beside the report name in the editor and select Rename.

  • To adjust formatting, click the cog icon and work through the available format options.

Step 5: Save your report

  • Click Save to save all changes to the visualisation.
