The True and Potential formula option is available in the following reports in Analytics: 1.2 Questions by Staff, 1.5 Section trend by individual, 1.6 Question trend by individual, 1.8 Section by event type, 2.1 Supervisor by section, 2.3 Supervisor by question, 4.4 Question trend, 4.5 Section trend and Advanced Reporting.
By selecting the true formula, the true averages will be showed and if the potential formula is selected, the potential averages are displayed. The true/ potential averages are relevant for Scorecards that have either the ‘Fail Section Subtracts’ or the ‘Fail All results in zero’ rule enabled or both rules enabled at the same time.
If the "Fail All Results in Zero" rule is switched on and you select a Fail all answer, the answer for every question will have a zero weighting. If the "Fail Section Subtracts" rule is on and you hit a fail section answer, then each answer for that section will have a zero weighting.
When using the True formula for your report filter, the scores will apply the rule or rules- triggering lower scores, which means that in the Question reporting you might see the positive answers with a 0 value.
If the Potential formula is selected, you can run the report on what the scores would have been without the rule or rules active – usually higher scores.
