Paybis Regulatory Updates – Effective July 1

Written by Lydia

To comply with new European Union (EU) regulatory requirements, our payment provider, Paybis, is rolling out a few important updates. These changes are designed to keep your experience smooth while meeting the latest compliance standards.

What's Changing?

1. One‑Time Profile Update (Non‑US Users Only)

If you're located outside the US, you'll be asked to answer 6 new questions during your verification flow. This is a one‑time update; once completed, it won't affect your future transactions.

2. Travel Rule Confirmation

Whenever you buy or sell crypto, you may see a new prompt confirming wallet ownership or beneficiary details.

  • If you've used the same wallet before, some answers will be pre‑filled for you; you can review and edit if needed.

  • You'll be asked to specify whether you're sending to yourself or to someone else, and provide basic details accordingly.

3. Updated Terms of Service

You'll be asked to accept the updated Terms of Service once. You'll see a checkbox at the payment step.

4. Billing Descriptor Change

The name that appears on your bank or card statement will change slightly to reflect new card scheme requirements:

  • Current format: [Sentz] x Paybis

  • New format: Paybis EU/US/UK*[Sentz]

No action is needed from you; this update is automatic.

When Will This Happen?

All updates take effect on July 1, 2025. We recommend updating your app to ensure a seamless experience.
