Notifications

You can choose how you’d like to be notified when important things happen in Sequence.

To set your preferences, go to:

Settings → Notifications

From there, you can turn on email and/or SMS notifications for different types of events.

Notification Types

Here’s what you can toggle on or off:

External bank account was disconnected

You’ll only be notified if the disconnection would interrupt your automations.

  • If funds are being sent to an external account where that account’s balance isn’t required for the rule to run (for example, “send 20% of income to checking”), the automation continues as normal and no notification is sent.

Balance alerts

These are configured at the account level:

  • Go to your Map

  • Click the account / pod / income source

  • Set the balance threshold you want to be notified about

In Settings → Notifications, you can choose whether that alert comes via email and/or SMS.

Reminder for disconnected external accounts

Similar to the disconnection alert above — you’ll only be notified if the expected or ongoing disconnection would interfere with your automations.

Funds were deposited into an Income Source

Get notified whenever money lands in a Sequence Income Source.

Helpful for tracking paydays, client payments, or other incoming funds.

Account is expected to be disconnected

You’ll receive a heads-up if an external account is expected to disconnect and that disconnection could impact your automations.

A rule failed

You’ll be notified anytime a rule doesn’t complete successfully — for example, due to insufficient funds or a connection issue.

This lets you fix things quickly and re-run the rule if needed.

A rule ran

Get a notification whenever an automation successfully runs, so you always know when rules have moved money on your behalf.

Security setting updates

You’ll be notified anytime we update or change security-related settings on your account.

Incorrect setup of manual liabilities

If a manual liability (like a credit card or loan that pulls from a Sequence Pod) isn’t set up correctly, we’ll notify you so you can fix it before payments are missed.

Click here for more info on what manual liabilities mean and how to set them up.

A transfer was successfully completed

Get a confirmation when a transfer finishes successfully.

A transfer failed

If a transfer doesn’t go through, you’ll be notified right away so you can investigate and retry if needed.
