The Shift Requests feature helps you fill shifts faster by working directly with the relief vets that are in your network. You can see when your in‑network vets are available, view helpful performance insights, and send direct shift requests.
With Shift Requests, you can:
See when your active in-network vets are available and plan coverage more easily
Send personal shift requests to trusted vets
Schedule faster with less back-and-forth communication
Make smarter booking decisions using ACT (Average Check Transaction) insights
Build stronger, long-term relationships with your relief vets
Maintain better control over private vs. public shift posting
This makes scheduling simpler, faster, and more reliable — while helping you build long‑term partnerships with the vets you trust.
How can I check the availability of my in-network vets?
Your Schedule calendar now shows when your active in‑network vets are available, so you can plan coverage without extra messages or outreach. Please note that your in-network vets should add their availability so you can view it on your calendar.
What you’ll see on your calendar:
In‑network vets' avatars appear on calendar days based on their availability
If multiple vets are available, you’ll see a simple “+N vets” indicator
Days with no available vets show no indicator
From the calendar, you can:
Click a calendar day to quickly create a shift through the Add a Shift form and send a shift request to the available in-network vet
Click a posted shift to edit it and send a direct shift request to the available in-network vet. Please note that once you send a direct shift request to your in-network vet, the shift becomes private and is not visible to other vets.
How do I create a shift request for my in-network vet?
When posting a shift, you can choose to send a request to a specific in‑network vet instead of posting the shift publicly. To create a shift request, follow these steps:
Click on a calendar day with an available in-network vet to open the Add a Shift form
Make sure that the Request In-Network Vet toggle is set to on
Select an active in‑network vet from the vet list (only available vets will appear)
The button changes from Publish to Send Request
Send the Shift Request
What happens next:
The shift request is sent to the selected in-network vet.
No other vets can see the shift.
If the vet accepts immediately → the shift is booked.
If the vet accepts with negotiated terms, the shift request will appear in the Shift Applications section of your Dashboard so you can review the negotiated cost and Approve or Decline it.
If the vet declines → the shift automatically becomes public and visible to the entire Serenity Vet network, but you can edit it by sending a request to another in-network vet who is available.
If no in‑network vets are available that date, you’ll see a message letting you know that direct booking isn’t available for that shift.
Serenity Vet will notify you of the shift request status via email and app notifications.
How do I view ACH performance insights for my in-network vets?
When choosing an in-network vet for a shift request, you’ll see their ACT (Average Check Transaction) when available.
ACT helps you to compare performance and make more informed scheduling decisions:
Important notes:
ACT is based on your completed and finalized shifts with that vet
ACT updates automatically as more shifts are finalized by you
If there’s not enough data, you’ll see “N/A” instead of a number
