How do I receive direct Shift Requests from my in-network clinics?

Clinics in your network can now send you direct shift requests. By adding your availability in Serenity Vet, you enable your in-network clinics to view when you’re free and send you personalized shift requests, giving you priority access to the opportunities that matter most to you.

Setting your availability and responding to personal shift requests helps you:

  • Get priority access to shifts

  • Reduce competition for bookings

  • Work more often with clinics you trust

  • Build long-term relief partnerships

  • Create a more stable and predictable income

This means less competition, faster bookings, and more control over your schedule!

This article explains how to set your availability and manage shift requests from clinics in your network.

What are the direct shift requests?

Direct shift requests are private shift invitations from clinics in your network. These requests are visible only to you and are not accessible to other veterinarians, which speeds up the booking process and gives you access to better opportunities with less competition.

Important things to know:

  • Clinics can only send direct shift requests to active in-network vets, so ensure you accept the clinic's in-network invitation.

  • Clinics can only send private shift requests when you have availability set on your Schedule.

Why does setting my availability matter?

Clinics in your network can now send you private shift requests — but it all starts with your availability. Your availability is the key that enables personal shift requests.

When you set your availability in Serenity Vet, your in-network clinics can:

  • See when you’re available to work

  • Send you direct, private shift requests

  • Offer you priority access to shifts before they’re posted publicly

This helps you build stronger relationships with your favorite clinics, get steady work, and access better opportunities with less competition.

If you do not set your availability:

  • Your in-network clinics cannot see when you’re available and cannot send you direct shift requests.

  • You will only see public shift postings on the Shift Booking page.

How to manage my shift requests from the Dashboard?

You’ll see a dedicated “Shift Requests” section on your Dashboard. This section shows only the direct shift requests sent by clinics in your network.

Click the Review button on the shift request card to check the details about the shift. From the shift request sidebar, you can negotiate, accept, or decline the shift request:

  • If you accept the shift request immediately → the shift is approved, and the booking is confirmed.

  • If you accept with negotiated terms, it requires additional review and approval from the clinic side before the booking is confirmed.

  • If you decline → the clinic will be notified automatically.

Serenity Vet will notify you of new in-network shift requests and negotiated shift requests status via email and app notifications.

How to manage my shift requests from the Schedule?

Easily monitor your private shift requests on the Schedule page, where all pending requests appear on the relevant calendar days. Respond to personal shift requests by clicking on them:
