Understanding How Search Works

Sesimi’s search bar, filters, and sorting tool functionality is powered by a robust search engine designed for both speed and accuracy. It processes search queries based on a combination of keywords, tags, and categories.

When you enter a search term Sesimi analyses:

  • Keywords in asset titles, descriptions, and metadata.

  • Tags and categories assigned to assets.

  • Filters and sorting options used to narrow results.

💡 Pro Tip: To optimise your search results, it’s recommended to use multiple filters and tags alongside keywords.

How to Find Assets in Your Asset Library

Step 1: Start with the Search Bar

  • Located at the top of the Asset Library.

  • As you type, real-time results will populate based on asset tags, categories, file names, and descriptions.

  • Search is flexible and adapts to different spellings and variations of terms (eg. Searching for ‘brochure’ will return assets with related terms such as “flyer” or “handout”, if tagged correctly).

Step 2: Use Filters to Refine Results

Use the filters menu to refine searches by:

  • Type: Narrow results by image, videos, PDF, or design templates

  • Categories: Find assets grouped by themes, campaigns, or organisational structure.

  • Tags: Locate assets based on specific keywords

  • Access Level: Filter permissions to see assets relevant to your role.

💡 Pro Tip: Combine multiple filters to significantly improve search accuracy.

Step 3: Sort Result for Better Organisation

By default, assets are sorted by date created, but you can also sort by:

  • Name,

  • Number of downloads,

  • Views.

💡 Pro Tip: Sorting helps prioritise recently accessed or updated assets.

Why Search Results May Not Be What You Expected

Variations in Naming Conventions

  • Assets may have been renamed, affecting searchability.

  • If unsure of the exact title, search using partial terms or related keywords.

Tagging and Metadata Differences

  • Legacy data migration may cause inconsistent tags.

  • Check for alternate tags if an asset does not appear as expected.

Large Result Sets and Pagination

  • Sesimi limits search results to 21 pages for fast performance.

  • To refine results, use filters, and specific keywords.

Missing Previews for Files

  • Certain file types (ZIP, AI, PSD) do not auto-generate previews.

  • Large or corrupted files may fail to display previews.

💡 Pro Tip: Manually upload a cover image to increase visibility.

Optimising Your Search Strategy

To improve your search efficiency:

  • Use multiple search terms to find variations (e.g. “logo”, “icon”, “branding asset” etc).

  • Avoid overly complex search phrases – start simple and refine as needed.

  • Apply category and tag filters to narrow results.

  • Sort by relevance to prioritise your results

Troubleshooting

  • Not finding results? Remove extra filters and simplify your search terms.

  • Too many results? Apply more filters and tags to refine searches.

  • Seeing unexpected results? The system defaults to recently uploaded assets – use sorting options.

  • Struggling to find campaign materials? Search by campaign name, then refine using tags.
