Create a Kids Account

If you’re an Australia-based investor with an active Sharesies account, you may be able to create and manage a Kids Account for someone who’s under 18.

Who can open a Kids Account?

You don’t have to be a childʻs parent or a guardian to create a Kids Account for them.

Uncles, aunts, cousins, brothers, sisters, godparents, and other well-meaning adults can create and manage an account for a young person in their life.

There’s no limit to how many Kids Accounts you can create and manage.

How to create a Kids Account

  1. Log in to your existing Sharesies account. Or sign up for your own Sharesies account.

  2. Go to ‘Settings’.

  3. Select ‘Create Kids Account’.

From here, you’ll need to:

You’ll need the following information for the child:

  • valid ID for the child

    • an Australian driver licence,

    • Australian passport

    • Australian birth certificate

    • a certified copy of an overseas passport or birth certificate

  • the child's tax file number (TFN) if they have one, and their foreign tax number (if applicable)

  • the child’s residential address.

Fees apply when using Kids Accounts.
