Refer a friend in New Zealand to Sharesies Limited (NZ) or refer a friend in Australia to Sharesies Australia Limited (ABN 94 648 811 830; AFSL 529893) by sharing your unique referral link or sending them an email invite. If they complete sign up using your referral link you and your friend will receive a $10 referral bonus instead of the usual $5 referral bonus (May - June 2024 Refer a Friend Promotion) for a limited time.
The offer is for a $10 top-up into your Wallet and the Wallet of your referred friend.
The promotion is run by Sharesies Limited and Sharesies Australia Limited and is governed by these May - June 2024 Refer a Friend Promotion Terms and Conditions, our Referral Terms and Conditions and our General Terms and Conditions and disclosure documents.
The promotional period is between Monday 8th May and ends Sunday 30th June 2024 (Promotional Period).
To be eligible for the May - June 2024 Refer a Friend Promotion you and your friend must meet the following criteria:
You will need to:
Either share your unique referral link, or ask us to send an email invite to a friend for you, during the Promotional Period.
Your friend will need to:
Have never had Sharesies Account; and
Open a new Account by using:
The unique link we give you, or
The link in the email we send for you; and
Complete sign up to the Sharesies platform within 30 days of:
Us sending the email invite, or
The friend first clicking on the unique link and commencing the account sign-up process during the Promotional Period.
If you and your friend meet the above eligibility requirements, we’ll pay a $10 (Referral Bonus) into your and your friend’s Wallet, in accordance with these terms.
Referral Bonuses are credited in the local currency of the account holder from the local Sharesies entity. For example, if the Referrer has a New Zealand Sharesies Account with Sharesies Limited and the Referee has an Australian Sharesies Account with Sharesies Australia Limited, the Referrer will receive a $10 NZD Bonus from Sharesies Limited and the Referee will receive a $10 AUD Bonus from Sharesies Australia Limited.
If you share your unique referral link or ask us to send an email invite outside of the Promotional Period and otherwise meet the eligibility criteria, we’ll pay a $5 Referral Bonus as per our Referral Terms and Conditions.
If you ask us to send an email invite to a friend, you agree:
to only ask us to email friends that you know well, and that you think will be interested in an email from us
that we can send an initial invite and two reminders
that the emails can include your name and say that you have referred the friend.
The Referral Bonus must be used to make Investments on Sharesies.
The Referral Bonus applies once per friend; for example, it doesn’t apply multiple times if your friend opens multiple Accounts using a referral link.
You won’t be able to see which of your referred friends have signed up to the Sharesies platform.
The Referral Bonus may take up to 10 business days to land in a Sharesies Wallet.
Sharesies can choose not to award the Referral Bonus if we suspect that you are abusing the referral programme or are otherwise in breach of these terms.
You agree not to engage in any activity that may be considered fraudulent, invasive or spammy.
Subject to these terms, the Referral Bonus may not apply in conjunction with other promotional offers.
If for some reason, we cannot pay the Referral Bonus as planned, we aren’t liable to you or anyone else.
In the event of a dispute, we’ll aim to resolve the dispute. Our decision will be final.
We reserve the right to suspend, change or cancel this Promotion or these terms at any time without notice.
The May - June 2024 Refer a Friend Promotion is governed by New Zealand law for Sharesies Limited (NZ) customers and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
The May - June 2024 Refer a Friend Promotion is governed by and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia for Sharesies Australia Limited customers.
Where there are cross-jurisdictional referrals, the jurisdiction will be the jurisdiction of the referrer, unless otherwise determined by Sharesies Australia Limited and Sharesies Limited (NZ).
