Investing with a Company, Trust, or Partnership

You can invest and save on Sharesies through your company, trust, or partnership. Here's what that means and how to get started.

Written by Sharesies Help

You can open a Sharesies account for your company, trust, or partnership. It operates like a personal account, with a few extra steps so we can verify the organisation and the people behind it.

An organisation account gives you access to the same investments you know from Sharesies (Invest, Save, PIE Save, and Crypto), with reporting and controls suited to organisations.

Account types we support:

  • company

  • trust

  • partnership

  • sole trader (coming soon).

Before you start, it helps to know:

  • Setting up an organisation account takes a bit more than a personal account, because we need to verify the organisation and the people who own or control it.

  • More than one person may need to complete a step (for example, each director or trustee).

  • A lot of the work is done for you. We pull company details from the New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) register, and we can read key information from your trust deed.
