If anything happens that might lead to you to make a claim, you’ll need to tell us as soon as possible. For car claims, you’ll also need to tell the Police in the case of burglary, theft, vandalism, malicious damage, or you suspect the loss has been caused by any other criminal act.
When you make a claim, you’ll need to provide:
full details of what happened, and for car claims, who was involved
all the information Cove needs to assess your claim.
The information you provide Cove must be true, correct, with nothing missing or withheld.
You can make an insurance claim in the Sharesies app or by calling Cove on 0800 268 347, and selecting option 1.

When making a claim, you’ll usually pay for the treatment upfront and then lodge a claim with Cove for reimbursement. However, Cove can review it on a claim-by-claim basis depending on the circumstances—just reach out to the Cove team to check.
If one event causes multiple vet visits in a policy year, they’ll be combined into one claim, with one excess applied—you won’t need to pay the excess more than once. The co-pay (the percentage of the treatment cost that you’ll need to cover, alongside the excess) applies for each and every claim.
