Booking a lesson on Sherpa is really straightforward!

This guide shows you how to send a booking request to your tutor. If they've already sent you a booking request, see this guide on how to accept it.

Step 1: Access the Booking Page

Head to your messages page and click the 'Book a Lesson' button on the right hand side of the page. On mobile, this is shown at the top of the page when viewing your messages.

Alternatively, click 'Book a Session' on their profile page:

Or, click on 'Make a Booking' on your bookings page and search for the tutor by name.

Select Subject

Now select the subject and level of your lesson from the dropdown list of options.

Customise the Booking

Choose the Booking Type

Choose from the 2 types of sessions we offer that best suit your needs:

  • Regular session - Choose weekly, twice a week or fortnightly sessions on a regular basis. Once accepted by the tutor, these will renew indefinitely until one side cancels all sessions.

  • Flexible session - Choose an individual or a block of multiple one-off sessions for specific dates and times. Once accepted by the tutor, all sessions within the block booking are confirmed.

Select Payment Method

Now it is time to select one of your payment methods to confirm the booking. If you have not added a payment method yet, you can add one at this stage.

Don't worry! We won't take any payments for lessons until it has been confirmed by the tutor. We only take payments 24 hours before each lesson, too. Here's our full guide on how payments work.

Confirm the Request

Finally, click 'Request Booking' to send it to the tutor where it will stay in Pending Bookings until accepted. You can make any last-minute edits to the request from there too.

Once the tutor has accepted this invitation, the lesson will be ready to go ahead and payment will be taken 24 hours in advance of the lesson start time.

Special Requests

If the only time you can have a lesson is not available on the tutor's calendar, please send a message to the tutor as they may be able to change their availability.

The tutor can book a lesson from their side which works in exactly the same way - just don't forget this means youโ€™ll have to log in and accept it!

Tutors also have the option to set a custom rate for the lesson if they wish to offer a promotion for the selected sessions. Students can only book at a tutor's chosen rate.

Once a lesson is confirmed and ready to go ahead, it will show on the โ€˜Upcoming Bookingsโ€™ page ๐ŸŽ‰.

This is also where you will be able to edit or cancel your confirmed bookings.
