Please note that there is a small 2.7% + 20p additional payment processing fee on Sherpa. This is not charged on free lessons.

1. Digital Marketing to Attract Students
When running a tutoring business, tutors often find themselves spending a large amount of time marketing themselves on social media and trying to find students through other channels. This is unpaid work that takes a significant amount of resources away from teaching!
We invest a significant amount of capital and time into professional digital marketing campaigns to attract potential students to your profiles.
Whether it's through search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, social media campaigns and competitions, we actively work to ensure that your courses and profiles get maximum visibility and people will come back year after year.
This means you spend less time marketing yourself and more time doing what you love โ teaching.
2. A Dedicated Support Team Recommending Your Profile
Our team prides itself on the personal connections we build with the best tutors in the UK. Our team often highlights new recruits in our internal Slack channel and each tutor is always known personally by a member of our team!
Our dedicated support team speaks to hundreds of new students each day and we are always hard at working recommending your profiles to these students. A large percentage of new enquiries to your profile come directly from our customer support team's recommendations.
Alongside this, we have a live-support channel available to all students on Sherpa, where we help resolve any query - ranging from technical issues with their device, to how to set up a booking with a tutor.
3. Dispute & Payment Protection
When tutoring privately without using a platform, tutors often face the following problems:
Customers don't pay on time (or at all!).
Customers will cancel with short notice, leaving you out-of-pocket for that time.
Customers can charge-back a lesson through their card provider, forcing you to go through a lengthy dispute process.
Sherpa ensures that you are always paid for your bookings. No lesson will go ahead without payment having been collected prior, and any failed payments will gracefully be reported to your customer, whilst providing them ample time to update their payment method.
For any lessons cancelled with less than 12 hours notice, you'll still be paid half of the lesson cost to ensure you're not out of pocket.
Sherpa also handles any disputes for you on our behalf. We won't bother you with the details of the dispute and we'll handle going through the dispute process.
4. Constant Website Improvement and Development
Sherpa provides an all-in-one marketing, booking, calendar, messaging and classroom system. By using Sherpa, you save a significant amount of time by managing all of your bookings in one place.
Our team of developers and designers are constantly working to improve the website's functionality and design. We roll out regular updates to offer new features, ensure the platform is secure, and fix any bugs.
The platform fee helps us maintain a robust and secure online environment for both students and tutors so that Sherpa remains their one-stop shop for learning.
5. Access to Our Online Learning Space
Our platform provides an integrated online learning space where you can hold classes, share resources, and save class notes. This virtual classroom is designed to simulate a real classroom experience with tools like a whiteboard, video conferencing, and a collaborative document editor. Students can also review saved class notes and lesson recordings at any time, making it easier for them to revise and understand the material better - extending the value of your lessons.
