Give yourself the time to relax, recap and prepare for your next session using session buffers.

Although a busy schedule is a good problem to have, Sherpa helps tutors set a specific time period between sessions so your schedule can fit your workflow and personal needs during a busy day.

What Is a Session Buffer?

A session buffer is a custom amount of time used to block out your availability calendar before and after a lesson or introduction.
โ€‹
This will prevent back-to-back bookings and introductions, ensuring you can take breaks throughout your workday and have time to prepare for introductions or bookings.

Example - if you have an hour-long lesson at 12pm and have a 20 minute buffer set for after lessons, students will only see availability in your calendar from 1.20pm onwards.

To start using session buffers, navigate to your Availability page here. You can also find that at the bottom of your sidebar while on your dashboard.

Note

By default, you'll not have any session buffers. Updating your session buffers will not affect any existing introductions or bookings.

Setting Your Session Buffers

Setting your session buffers is easy. Scroll to the bottom of your Availability page and you will see the preferences menu shown here:

You have the option to select 0-30 minute buffer periods (in 5-minute intervals) for each instance you may need it - before and after an introduction or lesson.

For example, you may not need any time before an introduction session but require 10 minutes afterwards to make notes and follow up with a booking request before heading straight into a lesson!

Think carefully about the way you like to work and where the extra time may be needed to ensure you don't feel rushed or underprepared for the next client. You can change this setting at any time if you need to make some more space in your calendar!
