Accessing Client Information via the Mobile App

Help staff members access client care plans and key information through the ShiftCare mobile app.

Written by Andrew

ShiftCare allows you to share client information, care plans, and documents with staff members via the mobile app.

🗒️ To access this information, a staff member must be rostered on a shift for the client.

How Staff Access Client Information

  1. Open the ShiftCare mobile app

  2. Select a shift from the schedule

  3. Tap the client’s name on the shift details page. This will open the client’s profile.

For shifts with multiple clients:
Tap the arrow next to a client’s name to select and view their details.

What Information Can Staff Access?

Within the client profile, staff will see the following tabs:

Details (Public Information)

Displays information entered in the Public Information section of the client profile, such as:

  • General Information

  • Useful information

  • Support Needs and Requirements (Disability / Support Need, Requirements, and Preferences)

Tip: Admins can manage what information is visible to staff by updating the Public Information fields. You can use the Client Public Information function to share relevant details with your staff. This allows you to select which information, such as phone number, allergies, email, etc., you want to make public.

Documents

Shows all client-related documents, such as:

  • Care plans

  • Assessments

  • Reports

Important: Documents will only appear if Staff visibility is set to Yes.

  • PDFs open directly in the app

  • Other file types will download to the device

Contact

The Contact tab shows client contact details from the Demographic section.

To enable this tab:

  1. Go to Account → Settings

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can staff view a participant’s information if they’re on the participant’s team but don’t have any shifts yet?

No. Staff can access a participant’s full details only after they have been assigned to a shift for that participant.

Even if a staff member is part of a team linked to multiple participants, they won’t be able to view those participants’ information until they are rostered on a shift with them.
