This document was created by the analytics team on behalf of the Customer Success team and other interested parties. It is intended to serve as a reference document with details on the standard reports offered on the Shipwell Platform’s Analytics Tab. For each report, we have included a brief description of the report, ways a customer may use the report, the filtering options available on the report, and descriptions of each visualization within the report.

Report Descriptions

Read below for descriptions of each report and potential use cases. For further information on the individual tiles within each report, see the In-Depth Report Details section below.

Accessorial Charges

This dashboard is used to look at the various accessorial charges on shipments. The customer can use this dashboard to analyze the cost associated with different accessorial categories and identify categories. The customer can identify the accessorial categories they are spending the most money on and the type of shipments and lanes the accessorials are used for.

Address Book Export

This report is used to view and download all address book entries in a customer’s tenant. It also includes all the contacts listed in the address book entries.

Blank Dashboard Template

The blank template is used as a starting point for building custom reports. This report is only relevant to customers with a Builder User license.

Carbon Footprint

This report measures the number of metric tons of CO2 linked to freight transportation to provide a baseline understanding of the environmental impacts of your business. Shipment distance traveled and weight of goods shipped are the primary factors considered. We also take into account the emission factor of a truck, which is a number that represents the weight of CO2 the vehicle emits per mile traveled. The emission factor we use for the over-the-road truck modes (Drayage, FTL, LTL, VLVL, Parcel) is 161.8 grams of CO2 per short-tone mile. For rail modes (Rail Car and Intermodal), we use 22.9 grams of CO2 per short-ton mile. This dashboard also looks at how much carbon emissions are reduced by using Shipwell’s load optimization.

Carrier Performance

Metrics related to carriers a customer works with. Focuses largely on on-time performance and tracking. Use this to help customers understand their carrier’s performance on KPIs such as on-time pickup and delivery, tracking, and volume.

Container Details

The Container Details dashboard is used for ocean container tracking, planning, and analysis. The dashboard provides metrics around containers on the water, approach last free days, estimated container arrivals, demurrage incurred, etc.

Customer Value Report

This dashboard is used to quantify the value of Shipwell’s TMS platform across various features. This is separated into two categories cost avoidance and efficiency gains. Cost avoidance for FTL is measuring the difference between the average spot line haul quote and the accepted line haul rate. For LTL cost avoidance is measuring the difference between booked LTL rate and the median LTL instant rate quote by service level. Efficiency gains are measuring the hours saved from automated routing guides, compass exception management, and spot bids vs procuring manually.

This dashboard provides a table with details on shipments that have a $0 cost applied.

LTL Instant Rates Performance

Dive-in to LTL loads run by the customer that were booked using P44. P44 is the conduit between our platform and the LTL carrier's platforms that retrieves rates, tracking updates, and document/imaging.

Marketplace Savings

The go-to place for viewing a customer’s performance on spot market bids. Use to help customers understand how much money they are saving by sending shipments out to bid. We can see savings by mode, equipment type, and lane. We also use this to see how many shipments a customer has sent out to receive bids by mode, equipment type, and lane. Savings are calculated by taking the difference between the average bid price and the accepted bid price.

Mobile Tracking

This dashboard helps identify shipments with missed mobile tracking opportunities because a driver's phone number was not entered. On the shipments that do have a driver phone number entered, the dashboard tells you details like whether the phone is on iOS or an Android, is the GPS, location, and/or notification permissions are enabled.

Pricing Lane Breakdown

It contains almost all information associated with a shipment, such as pickup/delivery times, locations, shipment status, cost of shipment, carrier, etc. Use this for general operational reporting. Shipment Overview

A high-level overview of the shipper’s operational history, including cost, lane stats, etc. Use for month-over-month freight spend, cost, mileage, and volume for the top 20 lanes.

Spot Market Performance

Insight to non-contract shipments that were assigned to a carrier via the platform’s bidding process. Another great report for customers who use the spot market or bidding process to tender shipments or customers who generally contract shipments, but occasionally use the spot market to tender shipments. This is more operational than Marketplace Savings, as rather than emphasizing savings, this report shows more information pertaining to all bids, so customers can get a sense of the efficiency of their bidding process and the best partners to work with. The report provides good information on the carriers who most frequently receive bids, how their bid price compares to other carriers, and how quickly they respond to bids.
